Hopefully the third time will be the charm and result in me getting my license. I made the exact same mistake I did last time, too. Thought I was ready but I guess not. I'm definitely going to wait a bit longer to schedule another test and practice parallel-parking until I can do it with my eyes closed (well, not really...)

I emailed the lady at the newspaper again a few days ago just to see what was up because she hadn't gotten back to me in a while and she said she the sample I sent her was very good (Her words. NICE! I didn't even try that hard, to be honest.) but the problem is I don't have my license. So I was all worried about that for nothing. Once I get my license she said I should email her and we could go from there.

So I failed my driver's test. I did the thing where you're supposed to show them where things are on the car (headlights, 4-way flashers, etc.) fine, but I got up to the cones and failed the parallel parking. I backed in and hit the back cones. He told me to try it again (I had already failed at this point, obviously) and of course I did it with no problem. Oh well. I scheduled another test for June 26th. Why not sooner? Well, it's because...

I'll be in Disney from June 13-19th!

Looks like Blogcritics won't be getting in touch with me. Here's the blog I set up, if anybody's interested: http://throughthe-wire.blogspot.com/ Don't worry, I'll post stuff on it more, haha.

I called the lady at the newspaper a few Thursdays (her only day in the office) ago and she said I should send her a sample of my writing and she'd send me some freelance stuff. I sent her a sample a few days later and haven't heard anything since. So I've kind of given up hope on that.

However, my friend who I've mentioned before who has a lot of experiences with music blogs told me about this site called blogcritics.org that I think I'm going to "sign up" for. I believe they take you right off the bat, since in the form to sign up there's a space for you to put your username. Also, if you have your own blog (like on blogspot or tumblr) it links to the original article on your own blog, so it's giving you more traffic on your blog. They also have different categories, like gaming and movies, so I might do some writing on those too. So, I think I'll write some things up on paper, then start a blog on blogspot or tumblr or something and then "sign up" for blogcritics.

I passed my speech class and math class! The math class was pre-algebra and isn't credited and I still have to take another one that's not credited and then take another one that is credited and then math is out of the way. Oh well. I may take another online class over the summer, but I'm going on like three week-long vacations so it might not work out.

I scheduled my driver's test for June 12 so hopefully I pass. I'm getting parallel parking down so...fingers crossed.

And I really don't like Green Day's new album. Hope no one is too offended by that statement, haha.

I took my math final on Monday and submitted my last speech today. So I'm done with my first "semester" (if you count two online classes a semester) of college! Whoo!

In other news, Sports Night a is freakin' awesome show.

OH MY GOD THE PREVIEW FOR THE NEW HOUSE. I SCREAMED. IT WAS AMAZING.

....I hate having to wait two weeks for it, though.

I bought the first two seasons of House on DVD. I'm also getting Swing Kids, Chelsea Walls and Tape soon. Oh, me and my obsessions.

I HAVE ACQUIRED PHOTOSHOP! Unfortunately, it was installed by a friend of mine and didn't come with the box or anything. So I have no idea how to use it, and I want to try making icons and stuff (I can just foresee this being a project, haha). Help would be appreciated.

I got a C on my second speech. Yay for being average I guess. Also, took my second math (only the final to go now!), and it was a lot easier than the first, so I think I did better than last time (Which....was close to failing. But remember, that was sans calculator. Not that I'm making excuses).

How about that Green Day show last night? Not that I was there, obviously. They played Who Wrote Holden Caulfield (...and Going to Pasalacqua and Christie Road but Holden is maybe my favorite GD song)! They better play that when I (hopefully) see them.

AND I AM TOTALLY NOT USING THIS MOOD ICON BECAUSE IT'S ADORABLE (haha [info]rebbe knows what I'm talking about). ........I feel geeky all the time, you guys should know that.

In college news, I got a D on my first math test and a C on my first speech. At least the rest of the math tests let you use a calculator. My speech professor emailed me and said giving me a C on the speech was here being generous. Oops. I really should've been more prepared for it, though, so a C isn't too bad considering.

That music blog place never got back to me. Not a huge deal, though. I'm going to try to talk to someone who works at one of the local newspapers to see if I can maybe get in there somehow.

In other news, I am obsessed with Robert Sean Leonard. I think seeing Dead Poets Society on TV Land a few weeks ago and being like "AHH I LOVE THIS MOVIE!" and then buying it on DVD and watching it like 2 times since then had something to do with it. I'm already working my way through seeing his movies. And I've been watching House a lot too.

I signed up for the Speech class I'm required to take (Online, since I still don't have my license). It starts on the 23rd.

Took a math test, it didn't go so well. I'm going to talk to someone on Thursday at the college because I couldn't use a calculator on the test and I'm pretty sure I did pretty bad on it. The point of the meeting, though, is because all throughout high school I was allowed to use a calculator on my math tests because I'm so bad at math, and I couldn't use it on this test. I mean, I don't think I should get special treatment, but this is a freakin' college prealgebra class. These kids aren't the best at math. See my point? So yeah...maybe I could work something out with my professor or whatever after this meeting.

So I was googled 'record stores in PA' looking for any that were close to me. Of course not. But I found this one in New Jersey that has a music blog on their website. It said they were looking for contributors to their blog. I just got finished emailing them my information and sample blog so hopefully I'll be blogging for them soon.

I got a letter from the college a few days ago and it said I was dropped from my classes for lack of payment. So, my mom and I head over there and it turns out I was dropped, but so were a lot of other people. See, I guess they have a system in place where you have to pay by a certain date or you get droppped. However, I registered after that date. So, I had to re-register. The English class had no seats left so I ended up just registering for the math class. I would've preferred taking both, but whatever. Maye something else will turn up that I'll be able to register for.

I bought The World Ends With You today and it's awesome. I've also been playing Persona 4 and I think I'll have to buy that too.

I watched Roadside Prophets two nights ago and I liked it (and Adrock's in it, so, duh, I had to see it), so I bought that on Amazon.

I registered for classes at the local community college. I'll be majoring in Communication (focusing on professional writing) and to start out I'll just be taking two classes online (English and math). I figured since I don't have my license yet and my parents are busy with the market it would be easier on them so they don't have to drive me as much (I'll have to take tests on campus, though, not a big deal.) and I just want to ease back into school. First I had to take a placement test in math and English to see what classes I'd be put into. English was easy, got into the regular class for that, did horrible on the math and have to take at least TWO low level math class that don't count as credits before I can get into a credited one. That sucks, but I'm just happy I'm finally figuring out what I want to do.

And yes, I HAVE become obsessed with the Beastie Boys. In less than a month, which is probably a record of some sort for me. Seriously, though, they're awesome.

I had a nice Christmas. Got lots of good stuff.

I think I finally figured out what I want to do with my life: go into the music business. I've been throwing the idea around for awhile but on Christmas Day I think it finally clicked. My parent's friends came over and their son has his own music website and blogs for Yahoo Music (and lives in New York City, which is freakin' awesome). He didn't go to college, but he started his own zine (which is also really awesome) and went from there. My mom mentioned that I'm really interested in the music industry and we got to talking and he said I should major in Communications. So yeah. I realized a while back that cooking as a living doesn't really appeal to me. He also talked about how much he loves his job and...I think that sealed the deal. I gave him my email address and he told me he'd try to help me out if I had any questions. I just emailed him and told him I think I'm going to do this. He also mentioned something about an internship at Yahoo Music, and that would be awesome.

First off, I need to get my license though. Haha.

Work is going pretty well. Word's spreading pretty quickly and we've been doing steady business. Except for the fact that I now can't stand my aunt (who works with us on Saturdays but pretty soon won't be, haha) because she's trying to control everything and being a total bitch to everyone.

Today was fun. My mom, a friend of my parents', and I went to go pick up some things my dad won in an auction to put in the store. We took his truck with the huge redneck-style tires. It was quite a sight. He's hilarious though (andIhaveacrushonhim*cough*) and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

The market's opening tomorrow, so I've been busy. I'm excited. It's my first job, too. Should be interesting.

Start a band. Let's just forget the fact that I have no musical talent whatsoever.
